Admissions Counselor Questions Answered
I am a high school student. How can you help me with college admissions?
I assist students in successfully navigating the college admissions process from start to finish.
Do you help with applications, essays, resumes, and scholarship attainment?
Yes. I guide clients through a fully personalized process that covers each of the key components needed for success.
What is the typical consultation timeline?
The first step is an initial meeting, in person or via Zoom, that runs an hour and fifteen minutes. This meeting, along with my assessment tools, allows for a valuable and time-efficient opportunity for me to get to know the student. It enables customized, personalized advisement moving forward.
The next step consists of a two-hour meeting to formulate a strategic plan for college admissions. The third consultation meeting discusses the details about the strategic plan execution. After this step, I meet with students to track progress as needed. Generally, I meet with high school students one or two times per month, depending on milestone deadlines and any details that need review.
What is the role of parents in the counseling process?
Parents attend the initial two meetings with students and are provided status updates after each forthcoming meeting. After the initial meetings and under my guidance, the student then manages the process and is empowered to take ownership of their academic and career plans.
Do you consider current career and economic trends in your counseling?
Yes. This is a vital part of my counseling research.
